Bio

My name is Jason Radcliffe and I am a native of Cleveland’s Westside. I grew up playing with Lego’s and building models. I was always taking things apart and rebuilding them to recreate them in my own image. When I was 20 I was going to school for mechanical CAD, I then began working for my Fathers business as an industrial designer, designing and building industrial process equipment. This is where I learned to weld and work in steel.

A few years later I was building things for my house and my friends. Then in 2005 a friend who worked for a small furniture store had me make custom pieces for their clients. It went well and I decided to try and get my ideas out to more people.

My style is definitely industrial. I am drawn to raw steel and the many colors, patterns, and textures you can create with it. I also work in stainless steel, aluminum, and wood. I create original pieces as well as taking vintage parts and incorporating them into my style. I try to hide or grind as many of my welds as possible. I always design and build my furniture for a clean smooth look with all the same tools I use in my industrial job.

My influences are late 18th and early 19th century industrial revolution era machinery that has a heavy feel to it. Durable and innovative products that were known for there strength and quality. I also like the works of both Victor Schreckengost and Frank Lloyd Wright.
